The still lifes are older. I've done a bit of work since then. My goal is to get to the point where I can do better portraits. Its taking time, but I am getting there.

Those are really nice. I especially liked the flowers in the basket. :)

Thank you. The flowers in a basket are done in red chalk, I have a second picture in red chalk that I will try and get up some time soon. It didn't want to uncurl.

I believe I've told you before you have such talent here with the pencil. Your still lifes are gorgeous dear.

Thank you. Actually all, but the basket with red chalk and the anatomy studies are done in charchol, not pencil. The anatomy studies were assigned for homework and done in a 0.5 mechanical pencil. The basket with red chalk is, well, done up in red chalk as an attempt at a more advanced medium. One of these days I hope to get good enough to sell stuff.

If you'd consider a commissioned piece, I may have solved your "to sell stuff" dilemma.

I want a pastel though, if you can manage it. Chalk is very dreamy too... now I'm torn.

I can try, I do have prisma colors availible. It really depends on what your looking for because my skill level isn't actually all that high. I just try and refine something simple until I'm happy with it rather then draw something complex.

It's fascinating to watch people's art evolve. The still lifes are lovely and the basket with flowers is especially nice. I would really like to see before and after fics concerning your musculo-facial studies. In an earlier entry you posted skull studies that were fascinating. If you keep this up I may feel compeled to take an art class as well to learn this stuff first hand. Suffice it to say I'm a tad jealous since I haven't taken art since high school.

My apologies as to the hyper state of the boy. My kids have been driving me insane today, so I particularly feel your pain.

Well, the studies are just that. They don't get any more fancy then you see. The idea is to learn the skull and the muscles so well that you draw the skull under the face and then draw the face so that you keep things where they should be. It does seem to work. portrait. I think this link is right. I'm trying to post a portrait we did of a model. She was a great lady.
